Church Initiated and run institutions have a reputation for producing well rounded citizens who can fulfill God’s purpose on earth. The education offered aims at achieving academic excellence and at the same time producing persons who are well developed in character and reverence for God.
The church aims at delivering excellence in education and aims to achieve the very best for children and young people so that they can achieve their full potential.

Administrative structure in the department
The department operates as Formal education which is under the Board of education and Training
It is run by a committee which comprises the following: Chairperson (elected by the standing committee of the Synod), Secretary (who is a full time employee of the diocese), 7 Archdeacons, Two representatives of secondary schools principals, two representatives of primary schools head teachers and one representative from youth polytechnics.
Other subsidiaries are;
- Kirinyaga Anglican Secondary Schools Heads Association ( KASSHA) for the secondary schools
- Kirinyaga Anglican Primary Schools Heads Association ( KAPSHA) for the primary schools
- School chaplains
- Anglican lead teachers
Some of the activities carried out under the Formal education are;
Annual diocesan education day
- Annual Archdeaconry education days
- Baptism and confirmation of Candidates in schools
- Coordination of services in the sponsored & affiliate educational institutions
- Overseeing management and administration in the sponsored & affiliate education institutions
